<3 I figured I'd explain it in the Rydian sheet later but since someone asked/mentioned it...

Rydians have a poison gland which becomes developed personalized to the Rydian. Depending on what they eat, chew, lick, or touch as they grow up their spit becomes more and more cultured. Through this slow process a poison is created, specific to them and them alone.

In order to counteract this, a small gland exists at the base of their throat which expels a sort of 'anti-venom' that temporarily (For about an hour or so) cancels out the effects in the mouth. The bacteria and everything else stays alive, but the population is knocked down to a extremely sparse amount (before it starts regrowing) and put in a sort of temporal standby.

The gland can actually be accessed through the small hollow under your chin before your neck. You can feel it if you rub there. It's just above the little thingy that moves when you swallow. Jam a needle in there and pull out a dram when the Rydian isn't being so helpful and you can create a sort of lotion-y protection thing.

They can spill this gland's liquid over a previous wound and cancel out the effects entirely. While the bacteria in the mouth can not quite be killed, the bacteria elsewhere is much more susceptible to being killed off because it's not in its "home territory", so to speak.

Unfortunately it seems to take a day or two for this gland to refill. It's much easier simply to allow yourself to get used to the poison in small doses if you've ended up with a Rydian lover.

Cat, being a shapeshifter and what not, has managed to force the gland to reproduce this stuff a hell of a lot faster. She also changed the delivery system slightly. When the chemicals and hormones that are produced from 'wanting to kiss' and other arousals occurs, the glands her spit extrudes from changes source material to her main anti-poison gland, and quietly shoves the bacteria to sleep.

Unfortunately, with the use of it kicked up so many notches, the bacteria are now more resistant to it and seem to turn back on a lot quicker than a normal Rydian's would. They take several minutes instead of the usual comfortable hour to 'wake up', so keeping her interested is a lot more important.

Hee, you bet. I had to design an entirely new species to come up with an Anthro form for myself.

I'm actually working on a 'how to design your own' sheet, along with lots of information on them and more. It's been on the table as something to work on for almost a year now, but I'm getting more and more in depth as I go. I've done things like find their Kingdom, Phylum, and more. There's actually two variants on the species and well... it's my baby. XD;

I'll be posting up the information here sooner or later. :3 Just in case people want to create their own Rydians and spread the little monsters around the globe. *Chuckles.*

:3 It's technically an Ouroborus symbolizing the continual renewal of life, and how that aspect means all is one and the one is all. I believe the snake that encircles the Earth is a Norse tradition, but it actually seems to appear rather often in old myths! (D So it's not just an FMA thing~. It also taps into her whole Goddess status thing and Shapeshifting abilities!

Really? : O I didn't know that, actually, and I'm a hardcore FMA fan. XD How did you find that out? You looked it up or something? Cause that's actually really interesting, it proves that FMA isn't another anime where everything comes out of the person's head (I'm not saying that I don't like animes like that XD) and that it does have some link to the real world.
